The ECU's I'm looking at are Unitronic and APR. Is what I'm saying making sense? I have posted this similar question to forums around the web, and will look back soon for advice. I have also considered adding a 2.5 or 3' turbo-back exhaust, but would want to get more air into the engine before I did that. I have eyeballed adding a cold air intake, but my friends (and fellow car enthusiasts) have persuaded me away from installing anything metal under the hood (it just gets too hot). I was wondering if anyone knew a possible worse case scenario that I could face if I ONLY upgraded my ECU with a new flash. I haven't done a single thing to the car yet apart from standard repair, so this would be my first big mod.
